Minnesota man jailed in death of co-worker's 5-year-old girl

The body of a 5-year-old girl abducted from Meeker County, Minnesota was located in Cass County, Minnesota Saturday afternoon.

The suspect in her disappearance, family friend Zachary Anderson, 26, has been arrested and a vehicle found, police say.

"The suspect is a co-worker, family friend of the child's father", Cruze said. She was last seen about 2 a.m. when she was put to bed.

They are seeking the public's help locating Alayna Jeanne Ertl, 5, who was taken from her home in Watkins, Minn. possibly at 2 a.m. Saturday.

The dad's truck with a cell phone inside had also been stolen, police said.

Any information should be called into 911 or Meeker County Sheriff's Office at 320-693-5400.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office confirmed that they have people involved in the search.

Authorities say Anderson was staying overnight at the girl's home. The cellphone that was pinged to find that location has since been turned off.

Alayna is described as 45 pounds, shoulder length sandy blond hair. The suspect is described in the alert as a Caucasian male, 5-foot-10-inches tall, weighing 200 pounds, with dark hair and a short shaggy beard.
