Croyle said the airline offers complimentary blankets in all cabins on worldwide flights and on certain red-eye flights.

DRAMATIC footage shows Federal Bureau of Investigation agents storming a flight after a passenger complained about being charged £9 for a BLANKET.

A Hawaiian Airlines passenger said he would "really like to take someone behind the woodshed" over the cost of a $10 blanket on Wednesday, prompting the plane's pilot to make an unscheduled stop so that airport police could escort him from the plane, according to multiple reports.

No crime had been committed, police added.

The 66-year-old man, who was not identified, complained of being cold shortly after the Honolulu-bound flight took off from Las Vegas at 8:45 a.m., the Honolulu Star-Advertiser and the Los Angeles Times reported.

"You know, if I was a passenger on board that plane I would have paid the $12 dollars for him", he chuckled. The airline described the man as an "unruly passenger".

Pedregon said airline staffers felt threatened, so the pilot diverted the plane. "I'm going to call the president". The flight attendant said the cabin was "on secured lock-down".

Passengers on the flight had mixed reactions to the delay.

"I thought it was ridiculous", passenger Eileen Berstrom told CBS Los Angeles.

She said: "First of all, it costs $12,000 for them to land here, and it's a $12 blanket".
