Lorde's New Single "Green Light" Is Based on Her "First Real Heartbreak"

During an interview on Beats 1 this afternoon, Lorde noted that "Green Light" is the first single from her forthcoming new album, titled Melodrama.

When Lorde first took off four years ago, she was a total outsider: a precocious 16-year-old from New Zealand peddling brooding, minimalist electro-pop that stood out from the arms race of extravagant pop smashes populating radio at the time.

"Green Light is officially out in the world, and I am so pleased to share with you that this song is the first from my sophomore record, Melodrama", she captioned the pic.

Police Move in on Water Protectors Who Remain at Standing Rock
A policy adviser to the Standing Rock Sioux tribe could not immediately confirm who set the structures ablaze. The arrests occurred a day after the Army Corps of Engineers ordered protesters to clear the camp by a 2 p.m.

Lorde, 20, teased the track on Twitter Wednesday, writing, "It's very different and kinda unexpected. And the song is really about those moments kind of immediately after your life changes and about all the silly little things that you gravitate towards", she said.

"Green Light" starts off with a sullen piano as Lorde, appearing to explain a breakup, sings: "I do my makeup in somebody else's vehicle / We order different drinks at the same bars". As the young woman said: "It'll make you DANCE". The music video was directed by Grant Singer and follows Lorde during a night out, ranging from the club to the auto and dancing on the streets.

Lorde's first album dropped when she was just sixteen. "She thinks you love the beach, you're such a damn liar". "This is where we begin".

After 12 months, they found that the testosterone group had better bone density and a reduced risk of developing anaemia. The first published research from the TTrials past year reported on some of the benefits to testosterone treatment.

The song and its video perfectly captures what we can expect from the new era of music from the singer.

At one spot, Auckland's Town Hall, the words "Green Light" could be seen projected onto a wall with a green background.

She's also set to perform "Green Light" on Saturday Night Live on March 11. She's no longer the preternaturally sharp teen of Pure Heroine, although that album's knack for pulling wide-eyed, euphoric choruses out of gloomy verses sticks. Lorde reportedly split from her photographer boyfriend James Lowe in late 2015 after almost three years together.
