Solar Probe Plus Mission by NASA Starting to Heat Up

After successful missions to the Moon, Mars and even distant interstellar space, NASA now plans to launch the Solar Probe Plus mission to the Sun, which is around 149 million kilometres from the Earth. Mankind has forever pushed the boundaries in attempting to achieve the impossible, and it has always been assumed that getting close to the sun was a recipe for death.

We live in the sun's atmosphere! It would be the closest manmade object to the sun ever if the mission is successful, and it will be seven times closer than any spacecraft has ever come to the sun. Further, this doesn't sit well with the general notion of "the farther you go from the source of heat, the colder it gets" and that's why it a big puzzle.

Researchers have tried to figure out these three enduring mysteries Christian said, but "the trouble is we're 93 million miles away, and things get smeared out in a way that makes it hard to tell what's happening at the sun".

Two of the transformative advances in our understanding of the Sun and its influence on the solar system were the discovery that the corona is several hundreds of times hotter than the visible solar surface (the photosphere) and the development-and observational confirmation-of the theory of the corona's supersonic expansion into interplanetary space as a "solar wind".

Being a cat lady doesn't show poor mental health says UCL
James Kirkbride of University College London , who oversaw the research, said in a statement . Gondii in pregnancy to a risk of miscarriage and stillbirth, or health problems in the baby.

The answers to these questions can be obtained only through in-situ measurements of the solar wind down in the corona. He wonders if this suggests that something, perhaps solar winds are coming off the sun faster than the comet was moving.

Scientists are hoping to use the probe to gather data to help forecast space weather events that affect Earth, like solar flares and storms that knock out communications on Earth and can cause quite a bit of damage.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is mulling over sending its first robotic spacecraft to the Sun, next year.

The mission may also ascertain why the Sun occasionally emits high-energy particles that are a danger to unprotected astronauts and spacecraft.

It would have been the same with [Diego] Maradona or [Leo] Messi. Star striker Javier Hernandez scored a brace in both matches.

NASA has designed an 11.4 centimetres carbon-composite shield, which is created to withstand temperatures outside the spacecraft of 1,370 degrees Celsius.

The probe will also have special heat tubes known as thermal radiators, created to radiate any heat that permeates the heat shield so as to protect the sensitive instruments inside. If everything works properly, the probe should maintain room temperature inside, and be able to beam back data.

Unlike landing probes on Mars and Moon, scientists can not land a probe on the Sun, but they will try to make the closest approach to the Sun while keeping the spacecraft alive.

The spacecraft will also be equipped with protection from solar radiation, which poses a threat to its memory and electrical circuits.

Scientists discover seven exoplanets the size of earth
The first exoplanet was discovered in 1988; since then, to date ( February 22, 2017 ) some 3, 584 exoplanets have been detected. The planets orbit a star called Trappist-1, which is about 40 light years away from Earth, according to the New York Times .
