Kim Jong-Nam Was Murdered Using A Nerve Agent

Kim Jong-nam, the estranged half brother of the young North Korean despot, died February 13 after two women, one from Indonesia and the other from Vietnam, wiped a toxic chemical on his face at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia.

The Malaysian police said authorities would sweep one of the terminals at Kuala Lumpur worldwide airport for toxic chemicals after Kim Jong Nam was murdered there with a nerve agent last week.

Malaysian officials said test showed he had been poisoned using VX, a highly toxic nerve agent the United Nations classifies as a weapon of mass destruction.

Earlier this week, Malaysia said 44-year-old Hyon Kwang Song, a second secretary at the North Korean embassy in Kuala Lumpur, was wanted for questioning over the death of the estranged half brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Two female suspects have been arrested, and police said four North Korean nationals suspected to be "heavily involved" are believed to have left Malaysia for the North Korean capital of Pyongyang.

Malaysian police say two women are believed to have attacked Kim Jong Nam, using their bare hands to wipe his face with a liquid.

Kim Jong-nam died last week after he was briefly accosted by two women at Kuala Lumpur airport.

North Korea, which has not acknowledged the dead man's identity, has vehemently protested the investigation, saying Malaysia is in cahoots with its enemies.

The thick, oily poison was nearly certainly produced in a sophisticated state weapons laboratory, experts say, and is banned under worldwide treaties.

However, nerve agents are much more potent.
