Former Chelsea and England midfielder Lampard retires

Lampard announced early on Thursday that he was hanging up his legendary cleats, thus ending a 21-year career that included plenty of hardware and more than 300 goals.

The midfielder said he was looking forward to the "next chapter" of his life after turning down "a number of exciting offers to continue playing at home and abroad".

The 38-year-old, who spent last year with New York City in Major League Soccer in the U.S., announced his decision on social media on Thursday.

Internationally, Frank Lampard has earned 106 caps for England scoring 26 times. Individually, he was named Premier League Player of the Year twice and Chelsea Player of the Year three times.

Economic Survey: No backing for any big fiscal push
It suggests that for long term benefit, real estate should be brought under GST so that tax revenues from this sector increases. The survey said government pay rises and muted tax receipts could put pressure on the fiscal deficit in the coming fiscal year.

That youngster was Redknapp's nephew, Frank Lampard, who - at least according to one snarky fan in the audience - was clearly inferior to fellow midfield prospects Scott Canham and Matt Holland, both of whom had recently been released by the Hammers.

"All the great memories together winning trophy after trophy year after year I will never forget".

However, before playing for New York City FC and spending a short period of time with Manchester City, Lampard played for Chelsea FC for 13 years and achieved the peak of his career with the Blues. "It was a long time ago now when he was at West Ham".

Lampard scored 10 or more Premier League goals in 10 successive seasons for Chelsea, reaching 22 as he collected a third Premier League winner's medal in 2009-10.

Frank Lampard has declared his retirement. He scored 211 goals in 648 appearances over 13 years at the club he joined from West Ham for £11million in 2001.

The midfielder won three Premier League titles, four FA Cups and the Champions League during a trophy-laden spell at Chelsea.

Clement, who replaced former Swansea boss Bob Bradley following a run of seven defeats in 11 games, said he had consulted Lampard before taking the job.

"After that - at Chelsea the goal that broke the goalscoring record at Aston Villa".
