Vikings plane skids off taxiway

The Appleton International Airport says a Delta flight carrying the Minnesota Vikings had a rear wheel leave the runway on the way to the arrival gate Friday evening.

However, the Vikings team plane ran into a little bit of trouble.

Vikings defensive end Brian Robison shared a video on his Instagram page of himself and other players using a fire ladder to get off the plane.

The Vikings will play the Green Bay Packers on Saturday. Paul International Airport at 4:26 p.m. and arrived at Appleton International Airport at 5:09 p.m., according to FlightAware.com.

The Minnesota Vikings tweeted from their official account around 7:15 p.m. confirming the team was on the plane.

Abe Weber, director of the airport, said: "This is very atypical".

Appleton also used social media to notify the public of the team's departure to safety. The passengers were removed from the plane two-by-two.

The plane is carrying around 150 passengers and the fire trucks are able to take two people off at a time. National Football League teams stay in Appleton when playing the Packers, and bus to Green Bay on the day of the game.

Vikings officials or players were not immediately available for comment.
