Hideki Matsuyama wins fourth tournament in five starts

"That's the most concerning part of the game, is getting off to I guess halfway decent starts", Woods said.

Woods is still four short of equalling Jack Nicklaus' major record tally of 18 and that will be back in his sights when he restarts his season in the new year.

Matsuyama was presented the rolling trophy by Hero MotoCorp CMD Pawan Munjal, with the Challenge host Tiger Woods in attendance, in front of a goodly Sunday crowd.

"It feels good to be back out here playing again, competing and trying to beat the best players in the world", Woods said.

But Woods had more birdies (24) than any player other than Matsuyama.

Though he thrilled fans with a run of three birdies from the seventh, he limped over the next three holes, going bogey, double-bogey, bogey to tumble back down.

Man United, Southampton into English League Cup semifinals
Then, on the hour, he was on hand to tap home after drifting off his marker to meet Valencia's square pass. At half-time, I could be with the players in the dressing room.

There were some rough times in his final round too, with Woods, having managed five birdies on Sunday, unfortunately offsetting that good play with three double bogeys and three bogeys. And whose final round was a disappointing 4-over 76, placing him 15th in the 18-man field.

Reigning British Open champion Stenson, down by as many as eight shots earlier in the round, sank a six-foot birdie putt at the 16th to pull within two shots of the Japanese standout and tension built after each parred the par-3 17th.

"It was nice to have my speed back, hit some balls out there with some aggression again and not have to worry about anything", Woods said.

"Unfortunately, I was not able to see all those wins (by Tiger) because they didn't have the broadcast in Japan, but I knew Tiger was winning and I knew he was very good and I nearly expected him to in nearly every tournament", said the 0Japanese.

Woods, who turns 41 on December 30, is certainly feeling optimistic about the future and feels just a few tweaks to his game here and there are required right now.

All in all, an exciting time is ahead of us as the young brigade takes on the 40-plus that includes Tiger, Stenson and Phil Mickelson, who was not here this week at Albany. Who knows, Woods has had two back surgeries in his time off and is also a lot older than he was when he was winning everything. The recovery at times made it hard for him to walk and led him to wonder if he would ever play. "I am really happy", said Matsuyama. "I just wasn't able to keep it going for two of those rounds, but overall it was a fun, competitive week for me".

MLB's All-Star game to no longer decide WS home-field advantage
Whatever league won the Midsummer Classic secured home field for the club representing it in the World Series that October. The change is part of the new collective bargaining agreement reached Wednesday night .

"Getting my lights back and my body back and focusing for a long period of time - these are things I've missed for a year and a half". "Hopefully, along the way I can play well on the PGA TOUR".

"Any tour player that tries to hit a wedge off a green is going to take a long swing and make sure that they use the bounce and fully release", said Chamblee.

"I don't load the spine like I used to", Woods said.

I've said before that every single golfer in the world will be hoping that the former world No1's comeback is a success, and in that respect this was a very exciting start.

Matsuyama therefore has won four of his last five events in 2016 including the Japan Open, the HSBC Champions event, the Visa Taiheiyo Masters and now the Hero World Challenge.
